1. Dismissiveness or outright exclusion of those new to their Spiritual journey; purposeful, blatant demeaning, ignoring, and actions intended to cause doubt and discouragement, particularly when they target the Seeker’s knowledge and skill set.

2. Intimidation and manipulation tactics wielded at new or younger Seekers (ex: using terms such as “baby witch”), thereby purposefully creating uncomfortable environments where certain members of the community are afraid to share their thoughts or freely ask questions.

3. Intrusive and exploitative, fear and “faith-based” outreach by predatory actors on the unsuspecting. These might show up as unwanted private messages claiming to “contain a message from your ancestors”, or high-pressure demands for money to remove “blocks”, “hexes”, “generational curses”, and even demonic forces only the extortionist can disarm.

4. Those who treat Spiritual Work as “Luxury Services”, charging exponentially beyond what they're equipped to provide.

• One of the biggest problems in Witch culture is optics, and the need to be seen as infallible, and to know everything. The chiding is bad enough in person, but worse online, where “Witch Tips” (usually a qualifier for garbage hot takes and catty one-liners) act as currency. Virality is frequently equated with authority in these spaces, regardless of subject or substance. If a chronically online, established Witch account says not to do spellwork under the full moon, expect trending in that topic with thousands of posts from self-described “Baby Witches” who are now “terrified” of the moon. The OP rarely- if ever- directly addresses these catastrophes, leaving it to the comment sections to either validate- or further deride- those who may genuinely be seeking answers.

And while it’s not the Internet’s job to care about your feelings, what does it say about a community, with a global roster of mostly women who choose to discredit themselves?

• “Woo-Woo”, however, outright erases entire traditions & cultures that define humankind, and that have been passed down since time immemorial, surviving innumerable persecutions. Much of what we know today has been shared through oral tradition - truly magnificent in its own right -when you think of all the knowledge we've lost- or suppressed- as a species. The history of the Occult is the history of humans- of us. If we can take a single lesson from the annals of time, it ought to be that this knowledge is meant to be disseminated, shared, and celebrated as we find our way back to Oneness. By describing it as “Woo,” we not only do ourselves a disservice; we deny the very real danger our ancestors faced by preserving it.
